How Our Maintenance Plans Work
Here’s how our WordPress website management plans work.
FIRST 30 DAYS
ACQUIRE LOGINS: Unless you host with us, you will need to provide the following logins:
- cPanel URL, username & password
- FTP server, username & password
- Administrative WordPress URL, admin level username & password
WEBSITE EVALUATION & CALL
Once we can login, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your site and create a report that outlines:
- Current PHP version on hosting server
- Core WordPress software version
- Abandoned Plugins (Do you need them? Are there alternatives? Can we delete them?)
- Outdated Plugins that need to be updated
- Unnecessary Plugins that cause code bloat and slow loading
- Security Issues
Once we have your report prepared, we will schedule a Zoom call to go over our findings, suggest solutions, and discuss/prioritize your action items.
30 DAYS+
After the first month, we’ll start to work through your action items within the allocated support time in your plan, while also delivering on your monthly website management package inclusions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my site is hacked?
We take WordPress security seriously. Over the first 30 days of your plan (and if we transferred your site in), we will be doing a deep dive into the state of your core software, plugins, and will install a security suite that helps us monitor your site in the future. We will be looking for out-of-date software, abandoned WordPress plugins and other openings for a hacker to exploit and will create a plan to resolve these issue.
With all these measures in place, your chances of being hacked are greatly reduced. Even still, a third-party plugin can have a previously undiscovered security hole that’s not found until 100,000,000’s of sites using the plugin have been hacked. In most cases, we will be notified when an exploit has been found in the wild and will instantly install the patched version of the plugin that was compromised. We do all of this behind the scenes so you don’t have to worry about it.
If worse comes to worst, all of our hosting plans have 1, 7, and 30 day backups. We will restore your site to a point before the hack took place. Be sure to tell us right away that it happened and when it happened. We’ll get you restored.
What happens if my site goes down?
Our plan of action depends on what the issue is. These things can happen because of a domain name that wasn’t renewed, because of a conflict between WordPress plugins, because your WordPress theme or plugins aren’t compatible with a certain version of PHP on the hosting server, etc.
We’d start by interviewing you on what was last done on the site to pinpoint the origination of the problem, and then investigate the site to see what needs to be resolved. We’ll communicate our plan of action to you in your SmartSheet and get to work.
Do my monthly hours roll over to the next month?
We operate on a fair-use policy so that we can deliver a high level of service to all our clients. This means we allocate specific time every month for website care & maintenance for each client. We are unable to roll-over or credit your account for any unused portion of tasks or allocated time.
Can I purchase extra hours for my plan?
Yes, absolutely! We charge by quarters of an hour, with a one quarter minimum. Just let us know through your SmartSheet what is needed. Once you purchase a plan, we will be in communication with you about adding additional hours.
Can I cancel my plan?
Yes, absolutely. We only ask for 30 days written notice (email/SmartSheet) so that we can make sure your website is safely transferred to your new hosting service before we turn it off on our end.
How does billing work?
When you purchase a plan subscription, your credit card is immediately charged for the cost of your plan. Every 30 days thereafter, your card will be automatically charged again.
If you use more hours per month than your plan provides on maintenance work, we send you an invoice by email at the end of that calendar month, and bill your card for the remaining balance. You can see our hours spent on a task in your SmartSheet 24/7, as well.
How do I put in a ticket for services?
Each of our clients is set up with a SmartSheet that allows for 24/7 communication between 2C and you. We show you how to use it, and then you can create a ticket any time and we are notified immediately.
How can I tell if 2C is working on my ticket?
We believe firmly in being transparent and communicative so you never have to wonder or worry. Each ticket has a status that shows when we begin to work on it, and when it’s complete. Between those statuses, if we have questions, or updates, we communicate with you via your SmartSheet. Your SmartSheet becomes a permanent record of what’s been done, in case you want to go back and check later.
